The 4 major groups were:
24x7 ( broadcast club)
EMC Square (events club)
Netprofit (New and interactive media)
Godfathers (film club)
The day finally arrived where in the head start was given by "24x7". With a lot of hustle-bustle in the campus, which was really exciting, it created the right amount of hype this club required. This also acted as a pep for the seniors, as a lot was expected from them. The class room was filled up to the brim and cameras were set up to shoot the introduction of every single individual, so typical of "broadcast". As every one was really happy from outside, there were a few butterflies in their stomachs while facing the camera. As the atmosphere was building up and everyone eagerly awaiting their turns to "broadcast themselves," we could sight a few inquisitive faces amongst the audience. Once the introduction was over we moved onto the debate, which almost went out of hand. But thanks to the group heads who handled the discussion and participants with finesse and ease. Quickly analyzing the situation, the debate was turned into another format of shipwreck, which was really interesting as it unearthed a lot of facts about both forms of broadcast- Radio & T.V., and the winning team was treated with a very modest yet truthful "chai". The perfect start that the club required was given by 24x7. This added more sheen & raised the expectation from the other clubs.
Next day it was the day of EMC Square(events). It sure looked like a very "event"ful day. The classroom was overflowing, much more than it could hold. The students enthusiasm was literally brought to the floor as they sat down on the floor to attend the session. A very innovative way of introduction took place, wherein the students had to co-relate to an object that they picked from their pockets and themselves, a long but interesting session of intro's. After which they decided to cut loose. The whole group was transported to the terrace where the rest of the activity took place. Without wasting much of the time given, they were split into different groups, wherein they had to come with a proper event proposal for the freshers party that would be organized. This being a real time event, every group came up with sparkling ideas to make sure that their proposal was accepted. The group heads had a tough time in pulling them together, but they managed it really well, especially in an open terrace, they were able to pull it off really well. The best idea would be worked on and taken to the desk to implement it in a more effective way, the winning group was awarded a chai each, which was graciously accepted by the participants.
The most hyped club, Net profit's day reckoned. With majority of them having no clue about what the subject and the group would offer, all of them were waiting for something new & refreshing. Ofcourse the club matched up to their expectations. The students were acquainted with basic industry knowledge, which astonished them. They were getting into the groove as a small quiz was conducted, where the logos of different companies that operate online were given and the students were asked to identify the brands, guess it wasn't too difficult. Finally, the new activity which caught everyone's eye, the small project, where a task was assigned (how to create a speaker with the cost of 50Rs). They were split into different countries, no talking was allowed, only g-talk and google docs were to be used. A perfect way to make the students understand how net savvy the world is turning into. This involved a lot of active participation from the audience and was very well recieved.
Finally the day arrived for the most subscribed club-Godfather(film club). A sudden change in the schedule also could not hamper their enthusiasm towards kick starting the last but not the least of clubs. With a very short span of 90 minutes at their disposal, they started on the brief history of Cinema. the students discovered much more than what they expected. They were taken through a timeline of events and the happenings of the world cinema, with screenings of rare and land mark videos. It was a visual treat, as expected. As they were racing against time, they quickly entered the last phase of the module- Visual Quiz. It was literally a very sweet experience, as cadbury chocolates were distributed for every correct answer. The interesting part of it being, with every question grew the difficulty level and not only that, the size of the chocolate also grew, keeping everyone interested. These guys really proved to be the godfathers.
A landmark week for our students and why not? The satisfactory levels soared new heights, after spending nights working and planning and of course not to forget the fights... fun was the only thing that was unlimited, which was basically the bottom line of this activity... that was the week...

Congrats to all the club heads ... but i think we oughta put our hands together for the coordinators too .... brilliant job in the first week with handling queries, attitudes, tempers and praises alike ... kudos to you guys!!!!
ReplyDeleteThink the club heads on their own or the coordinators on their own would not have been able to showcase such an awesome performance .... i say 'performance' for a reason ... i.e. "All the world's a stage and we ... puppets" therefore 3 cheers for team-work!!! surprisingly our major differences did not keep us from making a major mark on the administration as well as the new entrants ...
So lets keep this feeling and enthusiasm going ... and keep up the good work!!!
Cheers!!!!
